I can’t believe it’s September already; and it’s already Thursday! Where did the week go? Where did this year go?! It seems like the older my boys get the less and less time I have for me stuff during the day and the more and more mommy time I have. I love being a stay at home mom! And I love that as Rohrl and Statham are growing up we get to go out and do more. This week we have had play dates or gone out and done something everyday. By Wednesday I realized I was cooking our last meal for the 2nd half of August’s meal plan so I had to get my butt in gear and start September’s meals.

MealPlansFinal

I remember a time when I never even thought of meal planning, or what I was going to eat. I would get off work and my husband and I would go out to dinner. Every night. Looking back now it was ridiculous. I think of all the money we spent eating out and it makes me sick. Not only that, but I enjoy cooking. I think of all the fun times I missed in the kitchen just because I didn’t have “enough time” to cook or plan. And that was before we had kids. Now I have less time than I did back then but still I find time to plan meals out. I think once we have kids, as moms, a switch flips in our brain and suddenly we learn to become master schedulers and are able to do more in less time. Do you feel the same way or is it just me?

If you had a chance to check out my Goals for September a few days ago you’ll remember I wanted to start making more snacks from scratch and wanted to stick to a budget of $325 for everything. Since we are going to California in October I am wanting to stick with-in our budget even more so we have more to play with on vacation. Or we can save more for Christmas which is coming up too. So these next few weeks you’ll see I have a lot of meatless meals. Everything I have made before, with the exception of the pizzas, and my boys have loved them all so I am not worried about them not liking what I cook.

Take a look and tell me what you think!

I sure would love the wraps! Do you have a good recipe for the pretzels? Always wanted to make them.

Me too Linda! They are so easy… and good for you! I love my pretzel recipe, well it’s actually not mine it’s from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I was thinking about posting it in the next few weeks. They are so easy to make; but I will warn you they can make your stove a little messy.
