TGIF! It has been a great week during the days here at Tastefully Frugal. Night times not so much… My little Statham has not wanted to sleep, like at all! So this mama is running on fumes. Any tips on how to get a 1 yr old to stop waking up every 40 minutes at night?! I look forward to Fridays for many reasons. Most importantly it means I only have to wait half a day  to get my husband all to myself (and my boys too) for two and a half days. It’s my cleaning day so the house is always usually sometimes sparkly and clean by days end. It’s Pie Day so I get to write about pizza AND eat it! What a great day! What do you look forward to on Fridays?

I love when I can find bacon on sale! I can’t really justify spending $5+ on something that will be a side for 2 breakfasts, 3 tops. But when it is on sale for $3 and I have a coupon I pick up as much as I can. And what’s the best thing to put bacon on?! Burgers! So why not turn this delicious treat into a pizza?! If you love bacon, and who doesn’t, you are going to love getting a sweet treat in every bite. Loaded with bacon, cheese and plenty of hamburger this became love at first bite for us. I hope you enjoy it too!

Ingredients:

1 pizza dough

1/3 lb ground beef

1 can (8 0z) tomato sauce

1 Tbsp Worcestershire  sauce

2-2 1/2 cups shredded cheese (I used a cheddar mix, but you can use whatever you have on hand)

4 strips bacon

1/4 cup red onion, chopped

1/4 cup tomatoes, diced

1/4 cup lettuce, chopped

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425°

Cook bacon. (I always bake my bacon. 13 minutes at 425°)

Cut or tear bacon into small pieces.

In a small sauce pan, mix Worcestershire and tomato sauce and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce to low heat and let simmer 5 minutes.

Brown ground beef and drain grease.

Roll out dough into a  pizza pan and spread tomato/Worcestershire sauce over pizza; reserving about 1 Tbsp.

Pour remaining sauce mix over ground beef and add onion to skillet. Let cook for 5 minutes, or until onions are soft.

Sprinkle about 1 cup cheese over sauce. Add ground beef and onions. Sprinkle about 1/4 cup more cheese. Repeat with bacon and lastly tomato and lettuce. Top with remaining cheese

Bake for 15-20 minutes or until crust is golden brown. I baked this one for 17 minutes and it was great!

Sit back, take a bite and love life!

I hope your family enjoys this pizza as much as ours did. Come back next week for a pizza for the vegetarian in your life.

I am so with you on the bacon. We love it at our house, but I cannot spend $5 a pop. So, I am always on the lookout for a great deal. This pizza looks so yummy. It really is like a bacon cheeseburger! Thanks for posting.

Thank you Elizabeth! I would cook with bacon much more if it wasn’t so expensive. My husband says we should get a pig but I think I would get too attached and we would never get any bacon that way either lol

I’m with you on needing a bacon sale! That stuff barely lasts a meal in this house. Baca-vores, I tell you. Every Friday I try and convince my family to try a pizza with something other than pepperoni on it. So far it hasn’t worked but maybe bacon will do the trick!
