Make these cute mummy candle holders in minutes with just 3 supplies.
Today I’m sharing with you how I made a “Pinterest inspired” project with materials I already had on hand. Yes, I know the Pinterest Monthly Challenge isn’t until the end of the month, but I wanted this quick, easy and fun craft to be part of our 13 Frightfully Fun Days of Halloween.
When I saw these super cute Mummy Candles from my friend Sarah over at Creative Ramblings I knew I wanted to make them ASAP. After I wrapped up my segment on Fox 13’s The PLACE I realized I had cut way more strips of muslin than I needed for the Mummy Pillow. So what do you do when you have a bunch of extra muslin?! You make mummy candles of course!
Aren’t they cute?! I think they look like a husband and wife. And isn’t that how they did it in Ancient Egypt?! They make a cute addition to our growing Halloween decoration collection. Sarah had used gauze on her candles, and they turned out super cute too, but I wanted to use up some of the extra muslin I had from the pillows.
Supplies:
Muslin Fabric (If you don’t have this you can pick it up at the fabric store. Joann’s has it for $1.99/yd)
Googly Eyes (I found a 100 pack with multiple sizes at Walmart for $1.97)
Directions
Cut your muslin fabric into 2″ W x 10″ L strips. (You will need 3 strips per jar)

Repeat previous 2 steps with the other 2 strips.
I was able to do this project for free with materials I had on hand already. But even if you had to buy everything you could make these little guys for less than $5. What materials do you have on hand that you could make a fun Halloween craft with?
