I purchased an Expression 2 recently. It is an older version, I know, but, do you happen to know if the Starter Kit will work with this version?
tmana says
The Expression 2 will cut most of the same things as the Explore series and the Maker, but since Cricut closed the Expression’s online program (Cricut Craft Room) in July, you will only be able to use designs from cartridges.
I hope you registered your Expression 2 and downloaded Cricut Craft Room when you got your Cricut, because Provo Crafts sent out a serious discount to upgrade to a Design Space-compatible model if you used it before July 15, 2018 (the day they closed Cricut Craft Room).

I just purchased the Cricut maker and I am total beginner at crafting. what items do I need to purchase to get started on this machine? My main thing is going to be making T-shirts and sweatshirts with iron on‘s . Thank You
Trina Reid says
I am thinking about purchasing one but haven’t decided which one yet. Do you have to purchase all your materials from them or can I just go to somewhere like Michales or Walmart and use their felt and t-shirts to do projects?
Wendy says
Hi, I just ordered my cricket maker!! It’ll be here in a few days. I just read your post, thanks so much great info for newbies like myself! I have a question though…. Cuttlebugs….do they do something that the makers don’t? Would you purchase one if you have the maker, I guess is my question. Thanks again and have a great day 😁
marija says
Can you use cricut without an additional program? Is there a cutting machine that can cut with standalone no internet required program?
Sue Marie says
I’m looking to buy a Cricut Explore Air 2 but the more I read, the more confused I am. After seeing the info here, I have questions I didn’t even know existed. lol For example, is the Cuttlebug a more limited machine and/or how does it compare to the one I’m interested in? Also, on the Cricut site, these machnes can be purchased with an Essentials Bundle or Everything Bundle. Not knowing the tools,… I don’t know if this would be a good investment. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you please update your hyperlinks, the majority of the ones I chose to click on were not found.
Your blogs are so very helpful with my new toy!!! 🙂
Thank you!!

I just bought a Cricut Explore Air 2 and I don’t plan on doing a ton of heat-applied things. Do I really need the Press or Press 2?
Sydney says
Hey Lynda! If you are not planning on using iron-on vinyl you don’t really need the EasyPress. If you are wanting to get one for the times you are planning on doing an iron-on project on occasion, I would wait for a sale on Cricut.com so you can get the best deal on something you won’t be using all the time.
Catherine Heaton says
Will my Hp envy 5055 printer work for circuit explorer air 2.
Terri says
I would like to know do I need to use only circut T-shirt’s etc or can I use any T-shirt’s and bags?
Lydia says
I bought a Gildan t-shirt at Michael’s for a class and it seems to be just fine for iron-on vinyl.
Karen Birdwell says
I’m new with a machine. I bought the Martha Stewart one. I found a great sale. It says it uses all Cricit supples and blades. Is this true, before I open it. Watching your tutorials and supply list has been so helpful.
Thank you
Karen
Sydney says
Hi Karen! So you do need to use only Cricut blades but you can use any brand vinyl, iron-on, paper etc. Let me know if you have any other questions. That Martha Stewart Air 2 is gorgeous!!
Theresa Michelle Morris says
So, I bought a Cricket Expression (sure it is the original and not 2) so is this only able to work from cartridges?
It is still in the box, never opened.
Sydney says
Yes, any machine older than the Explore Air or Explore One can only work with cartridges. There is a sale going through 4/25 for the Air 2 that is only $179 https://shrsl.com/28u34
Reina says
I’m about to purchase the Circuit Explore Air 2, to print my logo on the poly envelopes. Is there anything else that I would need besides the printer and poly envelops? Thank you
Sydney says
I would purchase printable vinyl, or sticker paper. It would be easier to print multiple logos on these and stick them to the poly mailer. https://shrsl.com/29gvw
vickie says
I want a maker so bad I can taste it. Have used my explore 2 to death. Love it. Am planning on retiring in a year or so and have some other bills to pay off but if I dont get one for retirement Im doing it.
Sydney says
You will have SO much fun with the Maker!! I’ll keep my fingers crossed you get it as a retirement gift 🙂

I would get a good sticker paper for printing your labels on. This is my favorite. You can use code TF5 to save 5% from 143Vinyl too https://www.143vinyl.com/starcraft-matte-printable-vinyl-10-pack-8.5-x-11-sheets.html?partner=339445
