Have a holly jolly Christmas; it’s the best time of the year. I don’t know if they’ll be snow (please no snow) but have a cup of cheer. I know I’ve said it before but I LOVE Christmas music. There is just something about the beat and all the happy lyrics that just put a smile on my face. I think we need more happy songs about every holiday to get us in the mood. It would be like celebrating Christmas all year long!
The weather here the last few weeks has been wonderful. Our highs have been in the 50-60’s and there has been plenty of sunshine. It sure makes it hard to get much done in and around the house because all my boys and I want to do is be outside! They were sure excited to do this project though! When we went shopping for supplies a few weeks back I had bought a big bag of Dum Dum Pops (their favorite candy) and almost every day since then they have been asking for “ollis”.Ā
So when I was getting together all the materials their eyes lit up and they patiently (by patiently I mean asked me to open the bag about 20 times) waited for me to let them help. It’s so fun having them help me with things. It makes the end piece that much more special for me and, I hope, it makes good memories for them too. I got the inspiration for this Santa tree from the Christmas song “Have A Holly Jolly Christmas” and from Pinterest. I’ve seen the Lollipop tree made for Halloween and for spring time but haven’t seen one for Christmas. And Christmas time is a great time for suckers too, right?! This only took me about 15 minutes to make and because I had a lot of the materials on hand it cost me less than $5. Even if you had to go out and buy everything you could make this cute lil guy for less than $10.Ā
Materials:
3 in. clay potĀ (I got mine at Michael’s)
Styrofoam Half Balf 2″ DiameterĀ (Also bought at Michael’s)
Red Spray Paint (I usedĀ Rustoleum Colonial RedĀ that I had leftover from a project this summer)
Electrical Tape
Gold Glitter Washi Tape
1Ā Lollipop Stick
Dum Dum Pops (I used about 50)
Have A Holly Lolli Christmas TagĀ FREE printable
Directions:
Spray paint pot and let sit for at least 24 hours.
Take electrical tape and slowly work it around the top of the pot just underneath the lip.
Cut two pieces of gold washi tape 1/4″ thick and two pieces 1/8″ thick.
Place the two 1/4″ pieces vertically about 1/2″ apart from each other.Ā
Place the two 1/8″ pieces horizontally connecting the two bigger pieces to make Santa’s belt.
Cut out printable (I taped another piece of paper to the printable and cut out a second circle the same size so it would stick to the lollipop stick better.)
Attach with tape to back of the lollipop stick
Put half ball into pot and positionĀ Have A Holly Lolli Christmas TagĀ near the back.
Take Dum Dum pops and start sticking in styrofoam arranging so that you can’t see the half ball anymore. I stuck some in further than others to add more dimension.
He makes a great gift for a teacher or friend and is perfect to display in the kitchen or at your desk at work. Our St. Nick is currently sitting on daddy’s desk at work.

What a great ideas Sydney! I think I will do this for next year’s gifts to my husband’s relatives. He has so many little cousins, and we couldn’t afford to buy them all a gift so I bought little mason jars, wrote their names on it, and stuffed it with candy!
