Have fun and make a game looking at and finding Halloween decorations.
Welcome back to the 13 Frightfully Fun Days of Halloween. We took a break yesterday so I could share with you The Best Apple Cider Recipe but we’re back today with Day 8. When I was thinking about what fun things I could do with my boys for Halloween I started to think about what other things they liked doing through out the year. One of their favorite activities this summer was the Color Scavenger Hunt and last year for Christmas they really liked driving around looking at all the lights and decorations.
I thought, why not combine two of their favorite activities into one for their favorite holiday. Well really all of the holidays are their favorite; anytime there are fun decorations and tasty treats involved they are all for it. After I made this scavenger hunt we walked around our neighborhood to see what we could find in the day. We found all but the purple lights. I printed a few more copies and we’ve taken them in the car with us at night too to see what we can find.
I’ve also found that taking my boys on a 15 or 20 minute car ride at night when they are acting particularly crazy is a great way to calm them down and get them ready for bed. In fact, when Rohrl was a baby that was the ONLY way we could get him to sleep most nights.
So if you’re looking for a fun family activity (or a way to calm the kids down at night) print a few copies of this scavenger hunt (click here to print), hop in the car and enjoy the decorations of the season. What’s your favorite Halloween tradition?

I love the idea of doing a Halloween Scavenger Hunt. We usually go on a walk after dinner and my daughters always complain. I am going to have to print a couple of copies of your scavenger hunt to have my daughters do on our walk tonight. Thanks for sharing!
