Make this festive garland in 30 minutes or less and for just $1 – can’t beat that!Make this felt heart garland in less than 30 minutes and for ONLY $1

Last year our decorations for anything other than Christmas were sad. Having just had our little Mahle, my third baby, I was lucky to get out of my PJs before dinner time let alone decorate the house. I think we had Christmas decorations up until summer! But this year, now that we have a better routine down I’m excited to start decorating more.Make this felt heart garland in less than 30 minutes and for ONLY $1

Having kids I think it’s so much fun to celebrate and decorate for every holiday. Before we had kids I maybe put a Christmas tree up but now no room is off limits! Today I’m going to share with you the first of many Valentine’s Day decorations to come – this felt heart garland. It’s SUPER easy to make – thanks to the Cricut Maker and only cost me 99¢ – 3 sheets of felt at 33¢ each!Make this felt heart garland in less than 30 minutes and for ONLY $1

This project is also the first time I have EVER used a sewing machine. After I got my Cricut Maker last fall I knew I wanted to start sewing but had no idea where to start. For our anniversary in November, my sweet husband bought me a sewing machine and it only took me 2 months to use it! We have this Brother sewing machine (it’s on sale right now for $139 at Costco) and I love how easy it is to use – definitely a great sewing machine for beginners.

SUPPLIES:

Felt (I used the cheap felt at Walmart in pink, light pink and cream)

Thread

Pink Fabric Cutting Mat

Spatula in Cricut Tool Kit (for lifting the hearts off the mat)

Cricut Maker

Sewing Machine

DIRECTIONS:

Open this design up in Design Space. I have 16 hearts in each color ready to be cut.

Load your felt on the Pink Fabric Mat and insert the rotary blade into the B clamp.

I did it in order of size, biggest to smallest. ***TIP: Before you reach the edge of the heart you’re currently sewing add the next heart on top – that way they are sewn together and it looks better.
