No need to pack a big diaper bag for your toddler at Disneyland. Pack these 5 things and you’ll be set for the whole day!

Save your back (and your wallet) by only packing these 5 things for your toddlers when you go to Disneyland

If you follow Tastefully Frugal on Facebook or Instagram, you know we recently had our family’s first trip to Disneyland! It was so much fun and we quickly learned the ins and outs of both parks. I’ll be sharing more posts in the next few weeks on how we saved money and what we learned but today I want to talk one of the best things we learned on our trip. And that is all the stuff you need (and don’t need) for your kids while you’re at Disneyland.

September is Baby Safety Month and you would think with what we packed that first day we were preparing ourselves for the Apocalypse to hit while we were at Disneyland. We definitely were the safest parents in the park! We had food and diapers, blankets and toys, a fully stocked first aid kit and more! But what we quickly learned is we really didn’t need most of what we packed. There are baby rooms in both Disneyland and California Adventure that are nice and quiet and a clean place to change or nurse your baby. They also have all the first aid supplies you’d ever need and extra changing supplies if you run out.

We also learned by the second day, if we split our days up in half, it was easier for the kids and there was less stuff we had to drag around with us in the park. So by the last day this is what we had in our backpack. These 5 things were all we needed for the whole day for Mahle (who is almost 2). It was so nice having a light backpack we could throw under the stroller and not worry about having to carry around.

Let me show you what’s inside!

Diapers and Wipes – This one is obviously a no-brainer. If you have a little one in diapers you are going to want to pack diapers and wipes for your day trips. We only packed 2 diapers a day, since we went back to the hotel around lunch time, and we never ran out. We also only took a small pack of wipes to save that extra weight on our backs (those big packs can be heavy)!

We are fans of Luvs Diapers in our house because they are affordable and have great leak protection. I bought a small pack to take on our trip with us so I didn’t have loose diapers all over the hotel from our bigger box we usually buy. It was also easy for me to pickup at Walmart when I was picking up the few last minute things we needed for our trip. You can save even more on Luvs Diapers with a $2 off two bags or one box coupon available in this upcoming Sunday’s brandSAVER coupons.

Sippy Cup or Water Bottle – I did research before we went to Disneyland and learned there are several places through out the park where we could fill up water bottles for free. I packed everyone a water bottle and Mahle a sippy cup and we filled it up every hour or two. It was nice to stay hydrated, especially in the hot August heat.

Spray Fan Water Bottle – Speaking of heat, man in gets SO hot when you’re standing in lines in 90° weather. I packed our spray fan water bottle we bought last summer for the trip and I’m glad I did! Not only did we use it constantly but we saved ourselves $20 by not buying one in the park. If you’re not familiar with these bottles, they are like a regular squirt bottle but with a little fan that works when you pull the trigger. They are great for a quick cool off on a hot day.

Little Snack – No need to pack the pantry for your Disneyland trip. You’re going to want to try out all the tasty treats in the park and your kids are not going to eat the bazillion snacks you pack (trust me, I know). We found that an applesauce packet was the perfect snack for keeping her full until our next meal.

If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland (or any theme park), save yourself the headache of packing your diaper bag and backpack full to the brim. Just pack these 5 essentials and you’ll have all you need to make your day one your family will never forget. You can pick up everything you need at Walmart and don’t forget to print your $2 off Luvs coupon coming up in this Sunday’s (August 26th) brandSAVER coupons.
