Full explanation of Cricut Access including benefits, plans and more so you can know answer the question for yourself. Is Cricut Access worth it?
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Cricut. All opinions are 100% mine.
When I switched from using my Silhouette Cameo to the Cricut Explore Air four years ago, the biggest benefit at first to me was Cricut Design Space. Not only was it SO much easier to use, but there were a whole lot more fonts and images available with Cricut Access that made creating projects in Design Space really easy too! The most common Design Space questions I get have to do with Cricut Access including “What is Cricut Access?” and “Is Cricut Access worth it?” so I decided to put together a go-to guide to Cricut Access including:
- What is Cricut Access
- What’s Included
- Costs/Different Plans
- Other Benefits
- Project Ideas
What is Cricut Access?
Cricut Access is a subscription program for Cricut users that makes creating in Design Space even easier! You get access to a TON of custom made images and fonts as well as discounts on both physical Cricut products as well as licensed digital products too.
What’s Included in a Cricut Access subscription?
With Cricut Access you get access to over 100,000+ images, over 400 fonts and tons of ready to make projects in Design Space. You also get a 10% discount on EVERYTHING in Cricut’s online shop including both physical and digital products including sale items!
There is a small A next to Cricut Access products in Design Space so you can easily see which ones are included in a Cricut Access membership.
How Much Is Cricut Access?
There are two different Cricut Access plans. The basic plan that you can pay for monthly ($9.99/month) or yearly ($95.88 which equals out to $7.99/month). The premium plan is billed yearly at $119.88 which equals out to $9.99/month. Both plans get all the benefits mentioned above including the extras in Design Space and 10% Cricut shop discount but Premium Members also get:
- Additonal savings up to 50% off on licensed fonts, images, and ready‑to‑make projects. These projects include licensed projects from designers like Anna Griffin and Martha Stewart.
- FREE shipping on $50+ orders.
Other Benefits
Cricut Access members also have a special member care line that cuts down on wait time for technical help or help with placing an order. There have also been some recent sales on Cricut.com that are only available to Cricut Access members including mystery boxes (a box of goodies that cost a fraction of the retail value), bigger discounts on sale prices and even access to purchase the hard to find Cricut cuties!
Project Ideas
Whether you’re looking for projects to make with your Air 2, Maker or Cricut Joy there is something for every machine, and every type of material you have to craft with included in Cricut Access. Here are a few of my favorite projects I’ve made with Cricut Access images and fonts. If you click the project name it will take you straight to the project in Design Space:
Cat, Dinosaur, Space Explorer and Unicorn Backpacks
Infusible Ink State Love Totes
Is Cricut Access Worth It?
In my opinion, for anyone that uses their Cricut machine more than once or twice a year Cricut Access is definitely worth it! Even if you only use your Cricut a few times a year, Cricut Access is a benefit to have just for the savings on supplies when you need to order. Or if you aren’t a Cricut owner yet and are ready to buy a new machine. Cricut Access members save $20+ on machines depending on the machine you buy.
Why I Love Cricut Access
I personally love how much easier it is for me to create with a Cricut Access subscription. Instead of spending hours scouring the web for design ideas, SVG files or fonts, I just pop into Design Space and search for what I’m looking for.
Another benefit is the constant addition of new images and fonts. Cricut has a whole design team working to create new designs for upcoming holidays, events, causes and more. The new Hearts To The World collection that was released this month has been my favorite Access designs to create with!
I also love that when I use Cricut Access images and/or fonts I can easily share my projects with friends and family. All I have to do is click the box that says PUBLIC when I save my project. Then share the link to the Design Space canvas. Then anyone that clicks that link can change or customize the project and save it under their account without affecting the original design. That has come in super handy with my Birth Stat Elephant Design and Baptism Pillow Design.
Whether you’re an expert in creating your own designs and SVG files or a total Cricut newbie, a Cricut Access subscription makes crafting easier for everyone!

Hi,
I had access to Design Space when I first purchased my Cricut but soon after I canceled my membership, because I felt as though it wasn’t beneficial to me. After reading your review I feel the need to subscribe to it again. If I’m a member is everything licensed? I want to start my own small business and not have to worry about if the projects I am creating legal or not.

Great question Jerica! The Cricut Angel Policy is pretty all inclusive, saying you are more than welcome to sell projects you make HOWEVER, all licensed images (like Disney, Marvel, Hello Kitty, etc) are not included. BUT most, if not all of these licensed images are not included in Cricut Access, so really anything you create with Access you should be good. You can read more about what’s included in the Angel Policy here: https://cricut.com/legal#angel-policy
