Organize your toothbrushes and toothpaste in one convenient place with this easy, affordable DIY holder.
I don’t know about at your house, but at my house the only way I can get everyone to brush their teeth (including me) is if I have our toothbrushes and toothpaste in our half bath downstairs. If we all have to go upstairs in the morning to brush our teeth, it just never happens. So we have two sets of toothbrushes and toothpaste for everyone; one in our upstairs bathrooms and one in our downstairs.
It does make it so we brush our teeth twice a day BUT it also makes a huge eye sore in our already small half bath. I’ve tried using a cup to hold everything but it either gets tipped over and things go everywhere, or the one time I used a glass cup, it got covered in toothpaste and looked gross. In an effort to keep our bathroom looking cleaner, I headed to my favorite store to look for a solution; Target!
It also worked out conveniently that when I went to Target we were just about out of toothpaste too. The last time I went to my dentist he talked to me about gum health and making sure we take care of both our gums and our teeth. So when I saw this new Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste, I decided to give it a try!
This toothpaste has a foaming technology that goes around and below the gum line to kill more bacteria. I was a little nervous to try it because my teeth are so sensitive in the cold but I had no issues at all! The Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste leaves a nice cooling feeling on your gums and I’ve noticed my mouth feels fresher, longer. If you want to learn more about this toothpaste, click here.
There is a $1 off manufacturer coupon on the Cartwheel app you can use to save on this toothpaste too. AND starting March 4th, when you buy a full size tube of Gum Detoxify toothpaste at Target, you’ll get a trial size for FREE!
When I shop at Target I like to go down all the aisles (who doesn’t right?!). When I was down the arts and crafts aisle I found this cute wooden bowl on clearance. If you want to check out all my clearance finds this trip you can check out my Instagram stories. I have it saved as Target Finds. I got the bowl and some fun shimmery paint and headed home to make my holder.
This is such an easy DIY but it has made such a difference to keeping our bathroom looking clean and organized. I really like the size of the bowl. It’s wide enough to fit multiple toothbrushes in AND our toothpaste but it’s not tall and bulky. Let me show you how easy this is to make!
SUPPLIES:
Paint (the color I used is Fuschia)
DIRECTIONS:
Put painter’s tape along the middle edge of the bowl.
Paint, in thin layers, under the painter’s tape. I did 3 layers.
After paint dries, remove painter’s tape and add toothbrushes and toothpaste.
I had a small vase from the dollar store that I added some pink flowers to and put next to our holder; just to add a little more pop of color. In just an afternoon, I was able to add a splash of color to our little bathroom and keep it more tidy looking all at the same time.
If you’re family has a tough time remembering to brush their teeth twice a day, head into Target and pick up one of these fun bowls, some paint, extra toothbrushes and Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste. Make a pretty toothbrush and toothpaste holder and be ready to brush no matter where in your home you are!

My dentist is also suggested me to take care about the gum health. I never thought a toothpaste can do the job for me. Thanks for the “Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste” suggestion. I must give it a try. You made a great toothbrush holder anyway. I liked it most for it’s wide and deep area. It’s just enough to keep all the stuff fairly there. I must try to make such one in my own hand. Thanks for the inspiration….
