Create this Christmas Countdown in minutes and for only a few dollars.

Christmas Tree Countdown AND Silhouette Giveaway | Tastefully FrugalI’m super excited to join over 30 bloggers today in my first ever Silhouette Challenge! What is a Silhouette Challenge you ask? Every month a group of talented ladies (guys are welcome too) create projects with a certain theme on our Silhouette machines (Cameo, Portrait, Curio or Mint). Then we all share our projects so you can get some inspiration on what you can make. Don’t have a Silhouette? No worries… you’ll want to check out the bottom of this post for a HUGE GIVEAWAY including not one but TWO Silhouette machines!

Christmas Tree Countdown AND Silhouette Giveaway | Tastefully FrugalDecember’s challenge theme was Holidays. There are so many projects I’ve used my Cameo for this year already but I wanted to share with you one of my favorites today. Back in November I saw all these super cute advent calendar ideas and I had planned on making one but time got away from me and before I knew it, it was December and the only advent calendars we had were the ones with chocolate in them from the store. My boys love them but I wanted something a little more. So when I saw chalkboard Christmas trees in the dollar spot at Target I snatched one up because I had just the project for it.

Christmas Tree Countdown AND Silhouette Giveaway | Tastefully FrugalAfter we got home and I put everything away (Psshh who am I kidding all the bags were still on the counter when I started this project) I got out my laptop to design my Christmas countdown saying. My boys really are loving Elf this year and their favorite line is “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” So I took that theme and ran with it.

Christmas Tree Countdown AND Silhouette Giveaway | Tastefully FrugalI measured the length and width of the tree and adjusted the size of my saying to fit in the space and it fit perfect. Luckily the chalkboard Christmas tree came with chalk because what I thought was a chalkboard marker actually turned out to be a permanent marker and it would have been really hard to countdown the days with marker that doesn’t erase. Doh! That’s what I get for shopping with a two and three year old.

Christmas Tree Countdown AND Silhouette Giveaway | Tastefully FrugalThis was such a fun, easy and affordable project you could make one now, countdown the remaining days until Christmas this year and have a jump start on next year’s countdown too!

Congrats on getting your first Silhouette Challenge under your belt (and with a great project too)! 🙂 My first time was LAST December, and I know it’s a little intimidating at first. I love how you jazzed up a cute chalkboard (how did I miss these at my Target?!). And Elf is a new classic! 🙂
