December is here! December is here! My favorite time of year (after summer of course 😉 ) has finally arrived. I love celebrating the holidays! Going and looking at lights, decorating, gift giving and my childhood favorite, baking. I have many fond memories as a young girl baking cookies and treats with my mom and grandma and it’s a tradition I’m starting with my boys too.
So when I was thinking about what kind of gifts we could give our friends and neighbors cookies and treats were the first thing to came to mind. Then I thought how much more fun it would be to give the gift of baking with family instead of just the finished product. This is one of the easiest gifts to put together but is one that will give your recipient hours (OK maybe not hours but at least one hour) of fun and help their family make memories too.
All you need is a box to put everything in, I picked mine up at Walmart in the Christmas baking section for $2, sprinkles, cookie cutters (I picked up this set at Walmart too for $1.50) and cookie dough. You can use store bought or I love this recipe. Instead of just putting sprinkles in the box I put them in clear plastic ornaments. You can pick them up at Michael’s for $.50. I then made a tag to put on the top of the dough that gives the directions on how to bake the cookies and a fun twist on a Christmas carol “It’s Beginning To COOK A Lot Like Christmas”.
And there you have it. A fun Christmas gift that will help bring any family together this Christmas season. What’s your favorite thing to bake this time of year? Don’t forget to check out the other seventeen amazing gift ideas and enter to win some Christmas cash too!
