Make sure your day starts off right with these 4 easy tips.
Can you believe it is almost time to go back to school?! My boys spent the first part of summer waking up with the sun and have just barely started sleeping in until 9 or 10 on most days. I know the transition for us back to early mornings is going to be a little rough so I started thinking about what we could do to make them easier. I’ve implemented these 4 things already and they are making a huge difference in our morning routine.
Lay out clothes and everything you need for the next day the night before. I know, I know we’ve heard it a thousand times; laying out your outfit the night before makes getting ready in the morning so much easier. And guess what…it totally does! No more frantically searching for clean socks or a shirt. Don’t just stop at the clothes though. Sometime between dinner and bedtime talk with everyone about what’s going on the next day and make sure that all necessary paperwork, materials, books, etc. are ready for the next day before you go to bed.
Quick, easy and tasty breakfast. Starting out your day on a full tummy makes all the difference whether your 5 or 50. When I was at Walmart stocking up on school supplies and other things we needed I found these Jimmy Dean® Stuffed Hash Browns in the freezer section. We are big hash brown fans in our house and the idea of being able to have them for breakfast every morning sounded great. Not to mention the fact they were ready in just 2 minutes and have 9 grams of protein per hash brown. They are the perfect brain food for my little guys (and me and my husband too)! I also love the crisping sleeve which keeps the hash browns nice and crispy and makes them perfect for on the go, something my husband takes advantage of almost every day. Talking about something other than the day ahead. I’ve found that if we talk about something totally different than news, politics, or how long my to do list is it makes us all a little happier. Some of my favorite conversation starters are “If you could be any animal what would you be and why?”, “If you could do only one thing for a whole day what would you pick?” and “If you could star in any movie, what movie would it be?”
Have a place where you keep your keys. One of the last things you want to be missing when you’re running late are your keys. Have a place set up in the kitchen or by the door where you can hang or hold your keys so you’re not spending half the morning searching for them.
A little planning, a lot of laughing and a filling breakfast, like the Jimmy Dean Stuffed Hash Browns, can turn any stressful morning into a fun and relaxed start to the day. What ways do you like to start your morning? Don’t forget to print your coupon here!
