I received Monk In The Raw product in order to host the In The Raw sponsored MommyParty; however all opinions are my own.
Here we are at Day 12 of our 12 Frugal Days of Christmas. Have you enjoyed yourself so far? What better way to end a series than with a party! And boy oh boy Saturday did we party. Earlier in the month we got chosen by MomSelect to host a Monk In The Raw Mommy Party. I knew that this would be the perfect opportunity to host a super fun party without spending a whole lot of money. You may remember me mentioning MomSelect in my post in November about How To Throw A Party On A Budget and I referred back to this post in planning our holiday party.
First things first was to pick a theme. I wanted something that would be fun for both kids and adults but also easy for me to prepare and pick up. My boys favorite holiday movie is Polar Express so I decided to go with that as a theme. I posted a picture on Instagram of the invitations we sent out. They included a round trip ticket on the Polar Express and the invitation invited guests to come dressed in PJ’s and bring their favorite blanket to cuddle with.
Decorations were easy since it was Christmas time the house was already decorated festively. I did finish my Holly Berry Tassel Garland just in time for the party.
For the food I chose a Polar Express classic, hot chocolate. We did a regular milk chocolate hot chocolate, I used this recipe found on One Good Thing By Jillee and a white hot chocolate, I chose a classic from I Heart NapTime. Both were made in the crock pot so preparation for those took less than 5 minutes. We had sprinkles, crushed up candy canes, marshmallows, candy cane stirrers, whipped creme and packets of Monk In The Raw for the toppings. I made the Peppermint Brownies from Day 1 and Sugar Cookies with a butter cream frosting as snacks. All goodies were made with Monk In The Raw sugar. One thing I learned while cooking with Monk In The Raw is that you can completely substitute it for sugar while cooking but if you are baking it is best to only substitute HALF of the sugar with Monk In The Raw.
Another thing I really love about Monk In The Raw, aside from the taste, was that it is a good sugar substitute for type 1 diabetes. Diabetes runs in my husband’s family and making healthy choices for my guys is something that I have been trying to do more of recently. Monk In The Raw is a great way for me to still indulge in my love for baking and cooking AND make healthy choices that are good for my family’s health.
MomSelect provided me with tote bags and boxes upon boxes of samples of Monk In The Raw for guests.I opted to not do goodie bags for the kids since it’s Christmas time and I know that in a few weeks they will be getting plenty of gifts and toys; they didn’t need more stuff that would just get thrown away or lost somewhere. We also played some super fun games that I got inspiration for from Tiny Prints. For more information on the games check out this post.
I had set a budget of $25 when I was planning the party and I am happy to say I stayed just under budget (like $.03 under)! I used a lot of what I already had and am very grateful to MomSelect for providing all of the goodies for the gift bags and extra sugar substitute for me to cook with. We had an extra tote bag and because I really love this Monk In The Raw product I want to share some with you! Enter through the Rafflecopter below. a Rafflecopter giveaway
