Enjoy the fun of snow without the cold weather that goes along with it!

Homemade Snow www.tastefullyfrugal.org

Can you believe that today is the last day of July?! This month has seriously flown by. We’ve had family in town most of July and had a blast spending time together. We celebrated all the July birthdays last week with our Frozen Party and the kids’ favorite activity was the homemade snow. My sister in law lives in Phoenix so snow is something they don’t get to see very often. There were snowball fights, snow angels and pretty much anything you can do with snow; even mini snowmen! I figured since it was the last day in July, and it’s going to be close to 100 degrees here today, what better day to share this easy recipe.

This snow is so easy to make and it’s just as fun for the kids to help make as it is to play with. If you’re making this for a party or for lots of kids I suggest you buy at least 2 big boxes of baking soda, I think they are 4lbs. Or even better, buy the big bag at Costco or Sam’s Club. I originally bought one big box thinking it would be enough and it made about 12 cups but that I knew that wasn’t going to be enough for everyone at this party. If you’re just making it for a few kids one box should work just fine.

Supplies:

Baking Soda

Shaving Cream, I bought the generic brand at Walmart for $.98

Glitter (optional)

Directions:

Mix 2 cups baking soda with about 1/3 can of shaving cream. Start with a little shaving cream and keep adding until you reach the desired consistency.

Sprinkle in a little glitter and stir to combine.

Store in an air tight container.

Are you excited for cooler weather or are you like me and wish it would stay summer until December?
