10 unique gift ideas for those stumped on what to put in the kids’ Easter baskets this year.
Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Maybe because it’s the first holiday when the weather warms up, or because of Reese’s and Whopper Eggs, who know but I just love it. Easter also happens to fall with-in a few days of my oldest’s birthday this year so I wanted to do a little more than just the typical candy in the egg and stuffed animals for him. I got to searching and found these 10 fun, creative and unique ideas that kids young and old will love. But what fun would it be to just talk about them?! At the end of the post you’ll have the opportunity to win all ten gifts for yourself!
So without further ado…
Kendama– If you have kids there is no doubt you have heard of kendamas; a traditional Japanese toy with a wooden ball attached to a wooden “sword” by a string. The object of the game is to catch the ball on the sword. Not only does it help develop hand-eye coordination but Lion Head Kendama also promotes “unplugging” from technology and anti-bullying in school programs. I’m all for any toy that gets my boys outside and away from the tablet.
Boot Socks– Even though the weather is getting warmer boots are still in style and if you’re going to wear cute boots you have to wear cute socks right?! Boutique Socks, started by the founders of Our World Boutique, offers the cutest boot socks and leg warmers for adults and kids at wholesale prices. Instead of paying $25-$30 a pair why not pay $12?!
Little Passports– Just because you can’t physically take your kids across the world doesn’t mean they can’t explore and learn about different states and countries. Little Passports is a monthly subscription (that you can also do one time) that brings the world of travel right to your front door. They have different packages based on your child’s age and they all come with super cute suitcases, toys and souvenirs. They also have a great program going on right now where you can sign up your kids’ school and 15% of your community’s purchases go back to the school. The deadline for this promo is March 25th so talk to your PTA or principal today.
Paper Straws– Drinks always taste better when you drink them through a fun straw! Melissa over at Twigs and Twirls is my go to girl when it comes to paper straws (and she sells super cute tassel garlands too)! Use code FRUGAL10 for 10% off every order!
Jewelry– Whether you have a tween, teen or college student, all girls love jewelry. And when you shop at Cents of Style you can get something for all your girls and yourself too. They offer more than just jewelry, shoes, clothes, accessories and decor for every style and budget. Not sure what to get your girls? Check out their daily #StyleSteals for incredible deals AND if you sign up for their email list you get a free pair of earrings with purchase!
Pick Your Plum- OK so this is more a gift for you; but you can buy your kids some really great gifts there too! Like doctor play sets, minky blankets or crayon pouches. And if you forget to pick up something for the kids, every order comes with Laffy Taffy so it’s a win-win no matter what you get! They also have a new Share and Earn program where you earn points by sharing your favorite deals and points can get you free stuff!
Custom Artwork– It’s not as expensive as it sounds. I had a chance to meet this super cute mom-prenuer Rachel a few weeks ago and she started this great company, Modify Ink. You can create your own art or choose from their awesome prints and then customize every aspect of it. Plus they are really affordable too. I’m working on creating my own work of art and will be sharing it with you all in a few weeks along with a HUGE discount code.
Leggings- (or ties for boys) What is cuter than dressing your kids up in festive outfits?! My good friend Jeannine started Thelma’s Crafty Corner, a fun and spunky shop that sells leggings, beanies, ties and more. She makes every piece by hand and can make them in almost any size and fabric you want. And she can make matching headbands for moms too!
Books– You can never go wrong with giving a book as a gift. Whether your kids are young or old you can find the perfect book for them at Usborne Books. Whether you’re looking for board books, sticker books or science books, Usborne has got you covered!
Jamberry– Jamberry nails are the newest trend when it comes to nail art. These wraps last twice as long as regular nail polish and are perfect for both little girls and big girls alike.

What a fun idea! Even though I’m partial to giant chocolate bunnies I love ideas that don’t always involve a ton of candy. And of course anything with Jamberry wins in my book š
