What’s New Rides Are at Disneyland 2020
You probably already know that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is now home to two rides: Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and the all-new Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. As of January 2020, both rides are up and running in Galaxy’s Edge so you can experience Star Wars like never before!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance – This is a multiple ride system experience that features holograms, advanced animatronics and a storyline that will convince you to fight against the First Order. In order to ride Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, you’ll need to request a no-cost Boarding Group assignment. Enter Disneyland Park as soon as it opens and use the Disneyland app to “Join Boarding Group” on the main page. They’re issued on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be quick! You can also do your MaxPass from your phone too! Check out this post to learn more about MaxPass!
Snow White’s Scary Adventures – This existing ride is undergoing refurbishment to bring a new, less dark ending to the experience. Disney hasn’t yet released a reopen date, but we’re hopeful it won’t be too long.
Coming this summer is phase one of Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park.
Disney hasn’t yet released a lot of details, including an exact opening date, but the travel
experts at Get Away Today have some insight.
Avengers Campus – Takes the place of A Bug’s Land, and phase one will include a Spider-
Man themed, web-slinging ride. This experience begins as an open house of a new Avengers training facility, and ends up with guests being recruited to track down rogue Spider Bots.
What New Attractions & Events Are at Disneyland 2020
Did you know it’s been almost 10 years since Disneyland Park welcomed a new daytime
parade? That’s why we’re excited about Magic Happens coming soon!
Magic Happens Parade – February 28, 2020, Disney debuts the Magic Happens Parade. The floats, music and Disney Characters in this parade celebrate the seemingly small moments in Disney/Pixar history when the magic happens.
Disney Food & Wine Festival – While not new, the Food & Wine Festival brings unique food and drink to Disney California Adventure Park each year. From February 28 – April 21, 2020, guests can taste their way through the Marketplace and enjoy creative and delicious menu selections. Look for craft beer, local wine and food inspired from around the world.
Disneyland Resort’s 65th Birthday – Disney hasn’t released any information about birthday-specific celebrations, but the Resort celebrates it 65th anniversary July 17, 2020. The Parks will be rolling out themed merchandise to commemorate, and we anticipate some extra attention will be given to the Park’s original rides, including Autopia, Jungle Cruise, King Arthur Carousel, Mad Tea Party, Peter Pan’s Flight, Snow White’s Scary Adventures and Toad’s Wild Ride.
Each year, you can also look forward to guest favorites such as Halloween Time and the Holidays at Disneyland Resort. These festive times of year include themed decor, seasonal food and drink and temporary overlays on select rides. These dates haven’t been released yet, but Halloween Time typically begins mid-September and concludes on October 31st. The Holidays begin days later in November and extend through the first week of January.
