Decorate for Valentine’s Day without spending a fortune.
I’m sad to say this is the first year I have really decorated for Valentine’s Day. Before I had kids I was working all the time and never really had time to decorate and then when I had kids I was…working all the time and never had time to decorate 😉 . I said it during Halloween and Christmas time; now that my boys are older they are getting more into the holidays and decorating for every one only seems appropriate; I am right?!
Even though I want to decorate for holidays I haven’t decorated for before it doesn’t mean I want to spend a ton of money doing so. I decided to give myself a budget of $20 for each holiday and I can’t spend more than that. I’m happy to say for Valentine’s Day I have stayed under budget; way under. For this display I spent a total of $7 for everything here. Almost everything I already had on hand and the things I didn’t I bought at the Target Dollar Spot. And thanks to Graphic Stock I was able to create some super cute decor without spending a dime.
Let’s start with the Be Mine Banner. I picked up the pendant banner from Target and used my Cameo to cut out the words Be Mine. I got the heart design from Graphic Stock, which if you haven’t heard of them before they are the BEST website I’ve found for stock photos, images, vectors, backgrounds you name it! Stay tuned because at the end I’ll be sharing with you a code to get a one week trial for FREE.
Next we have the LOVE Mason Jars. I used the same heart design from Graphic Stock and will be sharing the full tutorial with you next Wednesday as part of the Junk Revision Challenge.
Moving on we have the Sequin Ampersand from Target, seriously how cute is this! They have hashtags and VDay signs too and they are all only $3! Then we have my favorite part, my Dr. Seuss love quote printable (you can download yours here). That background is also from Graphic Stock and they have every color under the sun available for watercolor backgrounds. It makes making printables so much easier!
We’ll finish up with the cute little mailbox I picked up at a local decor store, Upon A Shelf, for $3. Lastly, I couldn’t have a Valentine’s mantel without my loves, my family.
The only items I had to buy were the banner, ampersand sign, and the little mailbox. Even if you had to buy everything though you would easily be under the $20 mark. And now for the best part. I can’t agree with you more about never decorating for Valentine’s Day! I actually never really liked the holiday before, but I’m trying to get more in the spirit for the kids. Sounds like your story! I love all the ways you’ve brought Valentine’s touches into your home!
