Check out these five ways to save big on the things you want need most on Amazon Prime Day!
Amazon Prime Day is upon us. Starting next Monday thousands and thousands will be glued to their computers and phones trying to score the best deals on things they’ve been waiting to buy, or just score a really awesome deal on some this year’s most popular items. While there are lots of great deals to be had, sometimes Prime Day can end in defeat. Either by missing the deal you wanted most or being underwelmed with the sales or products available. I’ve been there and today I want to share with you how I’ve gotten the best deals without spending ALL day in front of my computer.
Know What You Are Looking For
This really is the first rule of shopping any sale, but especially a digital one where new amazing deals are popping up every few minutes. You can end up with buyer’s remorse or even missing out on something you were actually looking for a deal on.
Prime Day is a great time to get a head start on holiday shopping so before Monday make a list of the things you know will be on holiday wish lists. Talk to your kids, spouse and/or anyone else you buy gifts for and get an idea of things they are looking for.
Prime Day is also a great time to get the best deal on HOT items you may be wanting. If you want to get an idea of what prices will be like, do a Google search of past year’s Amazon deals to gauge if that Instant Pot or Ring Doorbell is in the budget.
How To Know You’re Actually Getting A GREAT Deal
One of the worst things for me is thinking I’m getting a great deal only to find out the price was just in the so-so deal price range. There’s a quick and easy way to find out if you are REALLY getting a good deal on Prime Day. Bookmark the page CamelCamelCamel. This website allows you to take any Amazon link and get a price history of the item for as long as it’s been for sale on Amazon. It also includes the highest price, lowest price and average price. Taking the extra 30 seconds to check the price can save you a lot of headache in the long run.
Compare Prices On Other Sites
Many retailers are also running sales during Prime Day. Target, Walmart and Ebay are just some that have already announced they will be having sales. Walmart and Amazon are notorious for price matching each other during Black Friday and the holiday shopping season and it’s no different for Prime Day.
Check manufacturer’s websites for deals too. For example, Cricut.com is having their Christmas in July sale through July 20th with supplies 50% off and $50+ off machines. You can even use discount codes to get additional savings and free shipping. A lot of the items here will be less on Cricut’s own web store than they will be on Prime Day.
If you are ordering from Cricut.com make sure to use promo code FRUGAL10 to get 10% off and score FREE shipping on orders over $50! That’s on top of any sales and 10% discount Cricut Access automatically gets.
If you know what you are looking for on Prime Day, do some research and see if another store or the manufacturer has a better deal. You can save yourself a lot of hassle by buying what you are looking for ahead of time.
Get Price Drop Notifications
I mentioned CamelCamelCamel earlier when talking about making sure you’re getting the best price but they also have another great feature. When you are checking the price on a certain product, you can signup to get email notifications when the price drops below a certain point (which you get to choose). This weekend, set up some notifications on the things you’re looking for and get notified automatically if they go on sale or drop to a certain price.
Let The Experts Do The Leg Work
There are many deal bloggers who have teams dedicated to finding the best deals and posting them as soon as they come up. Some of my favorites are Hip2Save and Utah Sweet Savings. Sign up to get notifications from their websites or Facebook groups and you’ll know about the best deals automatically.
While I’m not a deal blogger, I do have a Facebook group where I share deals, you can join here. I will be posting the best deals I find throughout Monday and Tuesday in there.
The most important thing to remember on Prime Day is not to go overboard. There are sure to be TONS of great deals and you don’t want to end up regretting, or even worse having to hide the evidence from your Prime Day spending spree by the end of the week. By using the steps mentioned above you’ll be able to score the very best deals without spending a fortune.
