Make this fun sign to put up in your laundry room and hold missing socks.
This post was sponsored by Font Bundles. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone.
A few years ago I did a craft night with some friends and we all made wooden signs. One of my friends made a sign that said “Laundry Today or Naked Tomorrow” and I just LOVED it! Our laundry room is more of a laundry closet so I wasn’t sure if I could pull off a big sign that said that. It wasn’t until we started having a ton of missing socks come up and I decided we needed something to keep track of them that I decided it was time to dress up our laundry closet.
This sign actually goes just outside the door but it is the perfect spot to find socks looking for a mate and also a great reminder for me to actually do laundry! As boring as laundry is, this sign was super fun to make! I’ve been working on creating more custom files for shirts, home decor and blog posts and this one was one of my favorites! Thanks to FontBundles.net creating your own custom designs has never been easier (or more affordable).
I’ve been using fonts and designs from FontBundles.net for a year or so and I was thrilled when they reached out and wanted to sponsor an upcoming project on the blog. If you haven’t heard of Font Bundles, they offer fonts, SVG design files and more in affordably priced bundles. There are SO many great designs and fonts available and most bundles are $20 or less and come with dozens of fonts and designs.
I used the Bold Brush Font from the Fantastic Font Bundle Volume II for ‘Laundry Today’ and the Oink Owl font from the Mini Craft Bundle for ‘Naked Tomorrow’. Downloading their fonts and adding them to your computer is super easy too!
Step 1: Buy Bundle
Step 2: Download Font To Computer – I have a fonts folder and a designs folder on my desktop so I can easily find all the ones I’ve downloaded
Step 3: Install Font To Computer
If you’re using Cricut Design Space when you download new fonts, make sure to save your work, close Design Space and re-open to have access to your new fonts.
Want to see how easy this sign was to make?! Let me show you!
SUPPLIES:
Chicken Wire & Chalkboard Unfinished Frame (I used a 50% off coupon and got mine for $6.50 at my local JOANN Store)
Chalk Paint (I love Country Chic Chalk Paint. The color I used is called Midnight Sky)
Paint Brush
Sandpaper
Painters Tape
Laundry Today, Naked Tomorrow SVG file – Click HERE to download for FREE
IF YOU’RE BUYING FROM CRICUT.COM, MAKE SURE TO USE CODE TFRUGAL TO SAVE 10% AND SCORE FREE SHIPPING.
DIRECTIONS:
Prep your frame by sanding down the wood and putting masking tape around the edges.
Paint your frame. I did 2 light coats and I think it’s perfect shade of navy blue. Let paint dry overnight.
Open SVG file in design space.
Cut design out of vinyl.
Weed excess vinyl and apply transfer tape.
Press vinyl on wood and slowly peel back transfer tape at an 90° angle. I start from the bottom right corner.
Attach lone socks with small clothespins.
Now you will never lose another sock (unless the dryer eats it of course)! If you want to create your own designs for home decor, shirts and more check out Font Bundles! This is amazing! We have so many missing socks right now and it is just sad because some of them are being thrown away only to find that the other pair is just somewhere around the house. We’ll definitely do this idea at home! Thanks for sharing it. Love lots! xoxo

Thank you Karen! And darn those missing socks! Seriously the dryer HAS to eat them because we have some we have never found the mate to.

Nice combination of fonts used there, and a very cute end product indeed! 😀
