Enjoy tasty snow cones at home with this quick and easy homemade syrup.
One of my favorite memories as a kid was going to the Sno-Shack to get snow cones when we went to the grocery store. We lived about 45 minutes from the nearest store so we only went a few times a month which meant we usually got snow cones every trip during the summer. I remember being amazed at all the flavor options…and even though I always got the same flavor (blue raspberry) I still spent a good amount of time deciding which flavor I wanted.
Now that my boys are older they are enjoying the deliciousness of snow cones as well. But since our closest store is less than 5 minutes away we go more than a few times a month and their snow cone habit was getting to be expensive. So when I was planning our Frozen Party in July I knew snow cones would be a must; not only are they delicious but what says Frozen more than an icy snow cone?! When I was shopping for supplies I found snow cone syrup but it was so stinking expensive! So what’s a girl to do? Make her own of course!
I had all the ingredients on hand since we use Kool Aid to make our Slushes so all I had to buy were the holders. I found these condiment bottles at Walmart for less than $1 and they worked perfect! So all in all I spent $4 to make snow cones…way better than $2 each! AND there was some leftover syrup so we were able to make more the next day too.

I’ll never understand why people comment without having made the recipe.
I made these with strawberry lemonade and cherry and it worked perfectly! Thank you for the recipe!! It saved us when smart and final had only grape left!

Loved this recipe! I saw in the comments that other people have used it for kid’s birthday parties, and I’m happy to report that it was super popular (it was a bit of a mess after my toddler got a hold of one so I had to get a carpet cleaning but totally worth it!) I am so excited to use this recipe for the rest of the summer. Thank you for sharing!!
