See how to turn an old tshirt into a No Sew Face Mask with your Cricut machine.
I feel like our family has done a pretty good job at this social distancing thing. My kids and husband haven’t left the house since the first of March and I’ve only left twice to go grocery shopping. I still want to make sure we are doing our part to help flatten the curve so I was super excited when I saw these No Sew Face Masks in Cricut Design Space.
How To Make No Sew Face Mask
I CAN sew, but I’m not very good at it so no sew projects are definitely my jam! AND these masks are SO easy to make! All you need is an old tshirt! You can cut your fabric with the rotary blade in the Cricut Maker. OR if you don’t have a Maker, you can cut the pattern out of cardstock and then cut your shirt from that pattern. AND if you don’t have any Cricut machine, you can download a PDF design and print it out. Then cut the pattern with scissors and cut your shirt from that pattern. No matter how you do this it’s a SUPER easy project anyone can make.
I will let you know that these masks are NOT rated for disease control and are not considered PPE. So they won’t stop you from getting sick but they will definitely reduce the risk. You can find the adult size no sew face mask design in Design Space here. You can find the child size no sew face design in Design space here.

DIRECTIONS (for Cricut Maker)
First you’ll cut your t-shirt down to size to fit your cutting mat. To do this line your shirt up on the 12″ mark. Put your acrylic ruler on top and use the rotary cutter to cut your shirt to 12″ wide.
Open Design in Design Space and click MAKE IT.
Click continue on preview screen. On next screen select your material. You’ll want to search COTTON in the drop down menu.
Put your tshirt on to the FabricGrip mat and use the brayer to make sure the fabric is on the mat without any wrinkles.
Load your rotary blade into the B CLAMP.
Load your mat into your Maker and press the flashing C.
Once your mask is cut, click the blinking arrow button to unload your mat and remove your mask from your FabricGrip mat.
DIRECTIONS (for Cricut Air 2)
First you’ll cut your t-shirt down to size to fit your cutting mat. To do this line your shirt up on the 12″ mark. Put your acrylic ruler on top and use the rotary cutter to cut your shirt to 12″ wide.
Open Design in Design Space and click MAKE IT.
Click continue on preview screen. On next screen select your material. You’ll want to search MEDIUM CARDSTOCK in the drop down menu.
Load your cardstock on your LightGrip Mat and put mat into your Air 2. Press the blinking C button to begin cutting.
After your design is cut, you’ll want to click the blinking arrow button to unload your mat. Remove your cardstock pattern from the LightGrip Mat.
Line up your pattern on your cut tshirt fabric and use a rotary cutter to cut around the pattern.
Use a fabric marker to mark where the cut lines for the slits are and cut slits out of shirt with rotary cutter.
If you want to add the Flatten The Curve Design you can find the Design Space canvas here. Heat your EasyPress 2 to 315°F and press for 30 seconds. Wait for Design to cool for 1-2 minutes before removing plastic blacking.
