First time baseball mom? Make sure to have these essentials with you at every game.
I was so excited when my oldest was old enough to sign up for little league. I always loved baseball growing up and now it’s time to pass that love down to my kids. I did my research and bought everything he needed for practices and games but I was still unsure about what I should be bringing to the games. Thanks to Rice Krispies Treats®, who has sponsored this post, I was able to put together my “Baseball Mom Essentials” bag. We keep this by the door that way we can just grab it and go on the way to games or practices.
A few of the items were obvious at first; sunscreen, water bottle. But there was a lot that I learned as I went to each practice and game. Check out what’s in my bag below and see why I’ve found it’s important to have all these things with me at all times.
Water: This one is pretty common sense. We play baseball in the summer time and it’s hot. You’ve got to keep hydrated. Sports drinks are OK but for moms (or dads or siblings) sitting in the sun, water is the best thing to keep you cool.
Sunscreen: This is a must! No matter how many times I remind myself to put sunscreen on I almost always forget until we get out in the sun. Having a bottle in my bag makes life so much easier.
Pain Relievers: Baseball games can get loud. And if you are at a tournament you’re going to be out all day. It’s almost inevitable that you are going to get a headache. Keep a small bottle of pain killers in your bag to help. It’s also good to keep a children’s strength bottle with you too; just in case your future hall-of-famer gets hurt playing.
Camera: You never want to miss a single moment so it’s best to always have a camera. I take my point and shoot with me and it works great. A few of the other parents have put up GoPro’s above the backstop so they can record the whole game. When Rohrl gets older we’ll definitely be doing this too.
Blanket: When it rains the bleachers are wet. Or if they are metal they can get hot in the summer heat. I’ve found it’s always a safe bet to have a blanket with you no matter what the weather.
Chapstick: With all that cheering my lips get dry fast. I always have an extra chap stick in the bag so my lips don’t get too dried out.
Kellogg’s® Rice Krispies Treats® : This is probably the one item I have to keep restocking the most! Rice Krispies Treats® make such a good snack on those days where we are at the field all day or late night games when the munchies start setting in. I love that they are individually packaged so they don’t get stuck together and the bright blue wrapper makes them easy to find in my bag! This baseball season they’re even more special because Rice Krispies Treats® has teamed up with Cal Ripken Jr. to give away a chance to play catch with the legendary short stop. Head on over here to find out all the details and enter to win!
We’re full swing into baseball season and we couldn’t be having more fun! Having a fully stocked bag is essential to me for making it through our long weekend tournaments and night time practices. What do you do as a baseball mom to get prepared for games? And don’t forget to pick up your specially marked boxes of Rice Krispies Treats® for your chance to at one of over 100 prizes!
