There are so many fun things to give (and receive) at a baby shower sometimes the choices can be overwhelming. This gift guide will help you pick fun, unique gifts that any mom to be will love!Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New Moms

Having a baby is such an exciting time in a family’s life! From hearing that first heartbeat to finally being able to hold your sweet babe in your arms; it’s hard to pick the most exciting part. One of the more fun experiences is during that time is the baby shower. It’s so fun to gather with friends and family and celebrate your baby. Having had a few, and attended dozens, I’ve found there are some gifts that are more appreciated than others. Diapers are always a safe gift to give because every new mom is going to need diapers. But there are some fun options too! Take a look at a few of my favorite gifts that I have given and received.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsNursing Pillow- Getting the hang of feeding a new baby is tough; no matter if it’s your first baby or fifth. Nursing pillows make feeding time easier for both breast and bottle fed babies. Diapers.com has a great selection of nursing pillows and tips on how to best use each pillow.

Blankets- Not all blankets are created equally. I have boxes of receiving blankets I have never used because they just weren’t that useful. I do have two favorites that are not only pretty to look at but babies love them too.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsSaranoni– These blankets are my absolute favorite…ever! They are so soft and keep babies (and the rest of the family) warm, but not too hot. And there are so many different colors and styles available. The mini are the smallest and are perfect for comfort blankets for babies. Then there is the receiving which are great for babies to cuddle with and sleep with (note: wait a few months to let babies sleep with big loose blankets to keep baby safe). My favorite blanket to gift though is the toddler-to-teen. It’s the perfect size to grow with babies for years.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsLittle Unicorn Muslin Blankets-I’ve bought several different brands of muslin blankets and these are by far the best. The patterns are gorgeous and my babies have all loved the feel of these compared to other brands.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsPhoto Prop Blankets– These are fun for taking baby’s monthly pictures to show how much they are growing. Oh Susannah just released a new line of these and they are adorable! Use code FRUGAL20 for 20% off your entire order!

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsNewborn Carrier- It’s great for a new baby’s healthy to be close to their mama. And having a wrap or carrier to hold baby in is good for both mom’s body and mind. Nesting Days Carriers are designed to be like a second womb for new babies. You can get a $10 pre-order discount if you order 4-6 weeks early AND use code TASTEFULLYFRUGAL for $5 off any order.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsBaby Shoes– There is nothing that gets more “Aahs” and “How Cute” at baby showers than baby shoes. There is just something about those sweet little things that make even the toughest guys turn a little sappy. With Mahle I have bought several different styles and brands but my favorite by far are the moccasins and boots from SweetNSwag. I love how many styles they have, the Mocc Boots are my favorite, and they are soft on baby’s feet. They are made from quality leather materials and are a fraction of the price of other brands.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsBooks- Another favorite gift at baby showers are books. You can never have too many books, in my opinion, and it’s always fun to share your favorite (and your kids’ favorites) with moms to be. We have loved building our library with Bookroo (you can read more about it here) and this is one gift you can give a new mom that keeps on giving.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsTeething Necklace- Babies are a lot like puppies when they start to get teeth. Even months before teeth break through the drooling begins and they start to chew on everything. Teething necklaces are great because they give baby something to chew on but add a little style to mom’s wardrobe too.

Baby Shower Gift Guide: Fun, Unique and Useful Gifts Perfect For New MomsFun & Unique Gifts- I love giving gifts that are unique and something that will make mom smile, even after being up all night with a baby. Oh Susannah makes some of the softest pillow cases with super cute sayings (I have Just One More Chapter and it may be my favorite). They also offer pillowcases you can color, kids pillowcases, couple pillowcases and more. Use code FRUGAL20 to get 20% off your order

Create a baby shower gift that is not only fun but useful too!DIY Diaper Wreath: The Perfect Baby Shower Gift That Is Fun AND Useful! AD #SuperAbsorbent

We’ve got just two weeks until our little girl joins our family and in that time I have three baby showers to go to. Who knew September was such a popular month to have a baby?! Having had a baby shower, thrown a baby shower and attended countless showers I’ve learned a thing or two about gift giving for moms to be. While it’s fun to get (and give) cute little outfits, blankets and little toys I’ve found the best gifts are ones that are useful ones; things that mom and dad are going to have to buy. When we had our first baby we were beyond blessed to not have to buy diapers for the first three months. My mother-in-law threw us a baby shower and almost everyone brought us diapers. It was so nice to not have to run to the store every week or in the middle of the night when we ran out of diapers. Diapers are, in my opinion, the best gift to give to expecting parents. But how fun is it to just give a box of diapers?!

DIY Diaper Wreath: The Perfect Baby Shower Gift That Is Fun AND Useful! AD #SuperAbsorbentThere are lots of fun ways to dress up diapers for shower gifts. There’s diaper cupcakes, diaper cakes, diaper bouquets and more. My favorite way to gift diapers are diaper wreaths. They are so easy to make but can be a bit time consuming. So put your favorite show on Netflix and get to crafting!

Supplies:

Diapers (my favorite are Huggies)

18″ Metal Wreath Form

Clear Hair Elastics

Ribbon

Twine

Small gifts to attach to wreath (I used travel size baby wash and shampoo, lotion, baby powder, socks and a headband)

Directions:

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 with about 35 diapers.

DIY Diaper Wreath: The Perfect Baby Shower Gift That Is Fun AND Useful! AD #SuperAbsorbentStep 8: Use tulle to attach gifts to wreath. I wrapped the tulle around the gift and 2 diapers. I then skipped two diapers and repeated with remaining gifts.

DIY Diaper Wreath: The Perfect Baby Shower Gift That Is Fun AND Useful! AD #SuperAbsorbentI bought a Newborn Pack of Huggies at Costco (the only place to buy the Newborn Packs) because I needed so many for the wreaths and also because the price and quality can’t be beat. I love the Huggies brand because they are soft and keep my babies’ bums clean and rash free. I also love how the Newborn size have the umbilical cord cut out and the wetness indicator. I was shocked at first to realize how much new babies go pee! I’ve found it’s especially important with new babies to have diapers everywhere; at the changing table, in the living room, bathroom, bedroom, anywhere you spend any amount of time with your baby! You never know when your little bundle of joy will have a blowout and the last thing you want to do is be running through the house trying to find a diaper.

DIY Diaper Wreath: The Perfect Baby Shower Gift That Is Fun AND Useful! AD #SuperAbsorbentWhat is your favorite gift(s) to give when you attend a baby shower? If you’re like me and like to give diapers and/or want to make a diaper wreath now through September 25th you can get $5 off the Newborn Packs or $6 off the Little Snugglers Plus Packs at Costco.

Create a fun and festive baby shower gift that is useful too!Diaper Bouquet: A Fun Baby Shower Gift You Can Make In 30 Minutes | Tastefully Frugal Have you ever noticed that you never just have one friend pregnant?! You either don’t know anyone who is pregnant or it seems like everyone and their dog is expecting. Currently I have 3 neighbors due within a week of me and one neighbor that just had a baby. That doesn’t even include the 10 or so other friends I have that are due in the next few months too. We’ve got several baby showers coming up so I’ve been brainstorming gift ideas that are easy to make (my energy definitely isn’t where it was a month ago) but also useful too. And nothing is more useful when you have a baby than diapers.Diaper Bouquet: A Fun Baby Shower Gift You Can Make In 30 Minutes | Tastefully Frugal

Giving a box of diapers is useful but it isn’t as fun as when you make something with the diapers. I’ve made diaper cakes before and they never turned out as pretty as they were on Pinterest. When I was browsing for ideas for the first shower next week I found these diaper bouquet. Not only were they easy to make but I had everything I needed to make them other than the diapers. So I bought a box of diapers (you will only need about 12-14 but I like to give the rest wrapped up too) and got to creating.

Supplies:

Diapers (12-14)

Vase

Rubberbands (I used hair ties because I had a ton that I wasn’t using)

Wooden Skewers

Tissue Paper (I used light pink and dark pink)

Vase Filler (I used headbands from my boutique, Mahle’s Market)

Tulle (I used pink and purple)

Directions:

Diaper Bouquet: A Fun Baby Shower Gift You Can Make In 30 Minutes | Tastefully FrugalFill vase with tissue paper and/or other fillers (I used headbands but you can use travel size lotions, socks, rattles, etc.)

Arrange diaper flowers in vase.

Diaper Bouquet: A Fun Baby Shower Gift You Can Make In 30 Minutes | Tastefully FrugalThis was so easy to make (I was even able to make a few Lego cars with my boys) and it only took about 30 minutes to put together so it’s perfect for those last minute gifts too. What do you like to take as gifts to a baby shower?
